This is my very first attempt at writing something for a blog, and I am already somewhat technically challenged, so.....let's give it a go.
I have been wanting to start a blog about the business that I started a couple of years ago - Blissful Kitty Professional Care for Cats. I had known that I wanted to have my own business but I had no idea what kind of business. I took an entrepreneurial course and set out to come up with something. The whole idea of a cat sitting business came to me after looking into the idea of opening a boutique cat hotel. The hotel idea would be be very expensive to start up - all in all, not very feasible. After I thought about it, it occurred to me that cats are happiest when they can stay at home anyway. That's it! At first, I was very hesitant to call myself a cat sitter. I never really loved that term. What would I tell my friends and family?! I didn't want to say that I was going to be a professional cat sitter, but deep down in my heart, I really wanted to be a professional cat sitter! So, I told people that I was starting a cat care business, that I was going to be a professional cuddler of sorts. I registered my company as a sole proprietorship, bought a business licence for the city of Coquitlam and for Port Moody. I bought some business insurance and now I was ready to go! I could say I was licensed and insured - a real business...my own business, doing something that I love, which is providing service to people and their furry feline family members!!!
